About the class
Miracles Counseling Center’s Trauma Recovery Center is offering a psychotherapy/psychoeducational group for Victims/Survivors of Domestic Violence. Participating in the group will provide survivors of domestic violence with alternative ways of dealing with the effects and the trauma of Domestic Violence through education, counseling, non-judgmental emotional support, and advocacy and linkage assistance. Participants are able to find alternative ways and means to break the generational cycle of domestic violence and victimization. Our classes are aimed to help victims/survivors of domestic violence build safe and healthy environments, acquire healthy coping skills, and improve emotional and behavioral regulation. Additionally, parents are provided the support needed to assist in making decisions to protect themselves and their children from abuse. In addition the class focuses on Child and Elder Abuse Prevention.
Our Domestic Violence for Victims/Survivors Treatment Programs are designed to meet the requirements and mandates of the Department of Children and Family Services/Social Services/Mental Health for child abuse and neglect and/or family dysfunction. Our classes place emphasis on child safety, permanency, and wellness.
